If you're looking for a luxury SUV to drive around Huntsville, Florence, and Cullman, AL, then the BMW X5 and INFINITI QX60 are both great picks. However, you may be wondering which one is the best choice for your unique needs and lifestyle.

The team at Century BMW wanted to help you figure that out, so we compared these BMW and INFINITI SUVs. Check out our comparison and then contact us to schedule a test drive.

Engine Specs and Powertrain: BMW X5 vs INFINITI QX60

Both the BMW X5 and INFINITI QX60 give you versatility out on the road and pair that with plenty of engine power. They have available smart all-wheel drive (AWD) systems that adapt to changing roadway conditions to improve traction control in a variety of situations. This is true whether you're travelling through heavy rainfall or taking a tight corner on a sunny day.

They also both hit the ground running with standard V6 engines that power your SUV with plenty of adrenaline, although you get a little bit more energy from the BMW:

As you can tell, the BMW X5 kicks it into high gear with a 335-horsepower twin-turbocharged standard engine. The INFINITI QX60, on the other hand, delivers 295 horsepower with its standard engine.

If you want even more power from your BMW, you can have it. Opt for the M Series of the BMW X5 and you'll get a 523-horsepower 4.4L BMW M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine. Unfortunately, the INFINITI doesn't offer a performance line with a comparable amount of power.

Interior of the BMW X5 and INFINITI QX60

Now that we've glanced under the hood to see what's working hard beneath the surface, let's open the front door and climb into the driver's seat. When we do, whether we're entering the BMW X5 or INFINITI QX60, we find a first-class cabin with available leather seating surfaces, available heated seats, and classic wood accents and inlays.

The BMW X5 comes standard as a 2-row SUV. However, a 3-row configuration is available as an option. This extends your overall seating capacity to seven passengers, which offers a lot of versatility in how you configure your cabin space. The INFINITI QX60 comes standard as a 3-row vehicle with a seating capacity of seven passengers.

They both offer plenty of cargo space, too, with more than 70 cubic feet in total with the rear seats folded down. However, loading and unloading may be easier in the BMW X5 with its split rear hatch. The top portion opens like a regular hatch, while leaving a lower tailgate in place to prevent anything that's shifted during the drive from falling out.

The tailgate can also be folded down to allow for the convenient loading and unloading of larger items. Unfortunately, the INFINITI QX60 doesn't have a similarly innovative design feature for the hatch.
